We live locally and just wanted a quick overnight getaway so we thought we’d check out the Bernalillo KOA. It is in a safe area and the sites are well-maintained. We had site p-18 which had a nice turf patio and was an easy pull-through spot that was completely level so we didn’t have to disconnect or use leveling blocks for the night which was nice! The bathrooms are extremely well-maintained and clean, with plenty of hot water, a baby changing station, and a separate baby-wash sink. There are 2 nice dog parks on site, a pool that runs may-October, and a great kids playground. Overall compared to other local options, we give this KOA 5 stars. It also has a walking trail connecting to next door Cactus Brewery.
One of the best KOA we have been to. Sites are small however the way they are arranged they felt plenty roomy. They escort you to your site. We like this being a 40 ft 5th wheel. All sites have artificial turf, gravel and a table. Dog park was very nice and lit at night. Staff was very friendly. We had no complaints, other than we wanted to stay longer but due to our schedule we could not. Will return if in the area.
Great spot for overnight stays! We have stayed here a number of times during our travels. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Park very clean. Pool looked inviting in the 100+ weather. Dog runs are good. All dirt but that's ok - the one in the back corner has lots of shade. Easy on and off to I25 and 550.
Dishonesty at KOA.... In November 2023 I called to make a reservation for Oct 2024 (during Balloon Fest) and spoke with Angie. I specifically asked Angie at Bernalillo to confirm that the cancellation fee was only $10. She said that the cancellation fee was only $10 if I cancelled before Sept 1st. The reservation confirmation I received contradicted her statement and said that the cancellation fee would be 1 nights stay (over $100). I promptly reached out to her both via a voicemail and email to request that she reverse the charges to my credit card. I also pointed out that she charged me for a KOA value card which I never asked for. She claimed that she didn't tell me the cancellation fee was only $10 and said that she could cancel my reservation but would still charge me for 1 nights stay. I now have to dispute the bill with my credit card company. No KOAs ever again for me!
Most staff friendly! Guests are the problem at this facility. Guests complained our dogs barked while we were away and doing our laundry (not during quiet hours) and first day two separate sites had dogs howling and barking most of the day. The same people I felt complained about or dogs had no problems with large cook outs that prolonged into the quiet hours, with people drinking and talking over each other. I guess that was my problem I should have went to to management on them, but I would have talked to the person involved first not run to somebody else.

Easy on/off of I-25. Clean sites and restrooms. Train noise until 10 pm then just freeway noise until the morning when train noise resumes. Lots of lights in the campground, so you feel safe at night. We have blackout curtains so the lights are not an issue. Would stay again.
Stopped in here with a group of 13 on our way to Colorado. We rented a few of the cabins. they were fairly cozy, as to be expected. Unfortunately, the air conditioner did not work in the three units we had, and it was fairly warm until the sun went down. The campground itself was well maintained and clean. There are lots of amenities, including a small, swimming, pool, camp store, and a pavilion where they show movies at night time. The bathroom and shower area was fairly small for the size of the camp, however it was clean. The location is right off of the highway, but it was not too noisy. There is a small craft brewery right next door, which is nice if you want to try that. Pro-tip: There is a small pass-through in the fence that connects the two actually. All in all, a nice, KOA campground.
